A system to count vehicles and control crowding within a designated area (the central area of a city is recommended), differentiating between direction of passage and registering the number of vehicles that pass by in one direction or the other (bi-directional counting). The sensor (camera) analyses images in real time, and extracts counting information through calculation algorithms. It is also able to read number plates.
With this solution, it is possible to manage traffic more effectively and efficiently, as well as determining which roads or trajectories are the most crowded.
